There is nothing better than a fresh glass of juice. And the surest way to get the freshest juice is to make it yourself! There are several options available for extracting the juices from your favorite fruits and vegetables (cold press, masticating, vertical, twin gear) but none is as fast (or affordable) as the trusty centrifugal.
Centrifugal juicers work by creating a high-speed, spinning force that pushes foods through a series of blades and separates the pulp from the juice. These machines automatically extract the juice for you and eject the pulp into a separate container. What you are left with is pure, fresh, nutrient-rich juice. These centrifugal juicers are an excellent way to get a quick drink from all your favorite foods, as quickly as possible.
In this article, we’ll take a look at the best centrifugal juicers for 2017 to help you decide which model is best suited to meet your juicing needs. There are a lot of options out there, so with our guide, we will help you narrow down the field and find the best juicer for you!

How Do We Rate Centrifugal Juicers?
So, when it comes to determining which are the best centrifugal juicers on the market in 2017, how do we go about it? In measuring juicers we use a set of five criteria.
- We look at the overall features offered by the manufacturer relative to how expensive the machine is.
- We survey and review customer ratings on a variety of platforms in order to determine the greatest customer experience.
- We consider to what degree consumers report problems with their machines relative to the severity of those problems.
- We consider how durable the machines are and to what degree the manufacturer’s warranties provide for the longevity of the machine.
- We consider any value-added bonuses offered by the manufacturer relative to other bonuses from other producers.
Given these criteria, what are the top 5 centrifugal juicers in 2017? Let’s take a look.
1. Breville BJE510XL Juice Fountain
Without a doubt, the best centrifugal juicers on the market are made by Breville. As you can see, three of the top 5 juicers on our list come from Breville. No company has done more to perfect these kinds of juicers and hone this method of automatic juice extraction.
Of the great Breville juicers on the market (considering price, features, and functions) you simply cannot top the BJE510XL Juice Fountain. This model uses a 900-watt motor, which is slightly lower than the 1,000 watts of the #3 Cuisinart model on our list. But the BJE510XL still delivers all the power that you will need, and no one will notice the difference between 100 watts.
And with the additional features and functionality you receive with the Breville, you will see why it’s the #1 juicer of 2017.
The BJE510XL comes with five different speed settings which will spin the internal cutting blades from 6,500 to 12,000 RPMs. The lower-end speeds are great for softer foods like oranges and the higher speeds are great for dense foods like carrots.
The five speeds allow you to customize your juicing selection to get the most out of each and every food. The #4 Kuvings model on our list only comes with two-speed options in comparison with the Breville’s five speeds.
The speed selection of the BJE510XL is made via a dial and LCD backlight selection screen which lets you know immediately the best kinds of foods for each speed setting. No other juicer on our list gives you this kind of feedback, control, or technology. No other juicer on the top 5 lists comes with smart technology.
The BJE510XL comes with a smart chip that senses the load in the juicer and automatically adjusts the power in order to juice most efficiently. This is just another reason why the BJE510XL is the #1 centrifugal juicer of 2017.
The high-speed force of the BJE510XL enables the juicer to separate juice from pulp with its blades, which are reinforced with titanium. In contrast, other juicers have simple stainless steel blades, like the #4 Kuvings and #3 Cuisinart. The BJE510XL blades come on Breville’s patented disc system, which cuts the pulp on stainless steel mesh. This filter basket is able to release the juice and extract the pulp automatically.
Like most other models on our list, the BJE510XL comes with an extra-wide feed chute so that you can fit many whole foods into the machine. But unlike other models, the BJE510XL comes with a patented system which reduces both vibration and noise levels. This makes the BJE510XL much quieter than the #3 Cuisinart on our list. And by reducing the vibrations, it also cuts down on the froth that is generated during the juicing process.
The BJE510XL is not the least expensive model on our list. With an MSRP of $199, it is more expensive than both the #3 Cuisinart and the #4 Kuvings models. However, the performance, function, and accessories that come with the BJE510XL make it by far the #1 centrifugal juicer.
2. Breville BJE820XL Juice Fountain Duo Dual Disc Juicer
The Breville BJE820XL is an upgraded, more heavy-duty model compared with our #1 BJE510XL model. The BJE820XL has a look and feel that is somewhat more industrial, while the BJE510XL is more elegant. However, if you are serious about juicing, then you should consider the BJE820XL because it certainly comes with a lot more power and a few more options than the BJE510XL.
First, while the #1 Breville BJE510XL comes with a 900-watt motor, the BJE820XL comes with a 1,200-watt motor and speeds up to 13,000 RPMs. This is faster than the #1 Breville model, so it will work somewhat better with denser foods. Both models come with five speed settings, but the BJE820XL has a simple dial selector with the LCD screen.
If you have no doubts about which speeds are best for different types of foods, then this should not be an issue, plus the juicer does come with a guide to make it easy.
In addition, the BJE820XL is made from a heavy-duty die-cast metal. This body is much stronger and more durable than any other model on our list. In addition to the patented nutri-cutting disc that also comes with the #1 Breville BJE510XL, the BJE820XL also comes with a puree disc insert (this option is not included in any other model on our list). This unique puree disc is made from stainless steel and is especially useful for extracting juice from soft fruits in order to ensure that you get the greatest yields possible.
The #2 Breville BJE820XL comes with several safety features (also included in the #1 Breville model) that are worth noting. First, a locking arm must be secured over the top part of the juicer; otherwise, the juicer will not function. This prevents the juicer from throwing the upper housing, with the spinning blades, off the base.
Second, an internal sensor will prevent the machine from overheating by shutting it off immediately if it reaches a particular temperature. These features ensure that both you and the machine will continue to operate smoothly and safely.
This model, along with the other Breville models on our list, only comes with a one-year limited warranty. In contrast, both the #3 Cuisinart and the #4 Kuvings models both offer a three-year warranty. Breville’s high quality tends to make up for the lack of warranty terms, and customer reviews report no long-term dissatisfaction for Breville juicers. So, while they might offer the shortest warranty, they do make the best juicers.
The BJE820XL is the most expensive model on our list. With an MSRP of around $399, it is $200 more expensive than its closest competitor, the #1 Breville model. However, given the extra power and capacity, if you are serious about juicing a large number of foods, you should consider the upgrade to the BJE820XL. With this model, you will be able to handle a much larger load without losing the high quality you can expect from Breville.
3. Cuisinart CJE-1000 Die-Cast Juice Extractor
This model comes in as a mid-range priced model that you can usually find for around $149, which means it is $50 less expensive than the #1 Breville model on our list. And Cuisinart has been making juicers and other kitchen appliances for some time, so they have a long-standing tradition of high-quality products.
This model comes with a 1,000-watt motor which is powerful enough to handle all sorts of soft and dense foods. At this strength, it is only nearly as powerful as the strongest model on our list, the #2 Breville juicer. Like the first two models on our list, it comes with five speed settings which allow you to adjust the speed from 7,000 to 13,000 RPMs.
This means that the Cuisinart will handle both soft foods like oranges and tomatoes, as well as dense foods like wheatgrass and kale. The dial on the CJE-1000 is surrounded by a bright blue LCD ring to make your selection easy to see.
A nice feature of this model is an adjustable flow spout so that you can control exactly how much juice is extracted from the machine at a time. This also allows you to juice multiple foods at once without having to mix them late. And Cuisinart has a unique anti-drip spout that keeps your counter surface nice and clean.
Cuisinart also includes with this model a one-quart juice pitcher both to collect your juice and store. This is somewhat smaller than the 1.2-liter pitcher that comes with both the #1 and #2 Breville models. Because of the centrifugal method of extraction, you will want to drink your juice as soon as possible in order to get the most of the nutrients. But having an included pitcher is nice for collecting larger amounts, even if you are only going to store the juice for a day or two.
The Cuisinart also comes with a two-liter pulp collector. Unlike the #1 and #2 Breville models, the Cuisinart pulp collector comes with a handle to make it easier to remove and dispose of the pulp. No matter if you are just throwing it away or transporting your pulp to a compost pile, the handle is a nice added benefit to making the cleanup more convenient.
Cuisinart also offers a generous warranty on the CJE-100 models. Whereas the #1 and #2 Breville models only come with a one-year warranty, the #3 Cuisinart comes with a full three-year warranty. And Cuisinart has an excellent reputation for customer service and customer satisfaction.
The CJE-100 is a reliable centrifugal juicer without a few of the more advanced technological features of the #1 Breville model. If you are looking for a simple juicer with excellent extraction, this model from Cuisinart can save you a few dollars compared to the #1 Breville.
4. Kuvings NJ-9500U Centrifugal Juice Extractor
With an MSRP of $149, it is around the same price as the #3 Cuisinart and $50 more than the #5 Breville BJE200XL. The Kuvings juicer is a simple model compared to the other juicers on our list, so it is perfect for those who have little to no experience with high-speed juicers.
Kuvings has made the juicing process easy by reducing the guesswork of selecting the proper speed. While the #1 Breville and #3 Cuisinart models come with five different speed settings, the Kuvings only comes with two speed setting: low and high. This is perfect for those who are unsure of the finer points of juicing, and it still allows you to make the selection for when you are juicing soft versus dense foods.
The motor on the NJ-9500U is also a bit smaller than other models on the list. While the #5 Breville Compact juicer comes with a 700-watt motor, the Kuvings only comes with a 350-watt motor. This means you will have to take your time processing a lot of food, as the Kuvings will not be able to churn the food as efficiently as other models on our list.
It will, however, turn at speeds up to 11,000 RPMs, which is comparable to the #1 Breville BJE510XL, so the force acting on the food is similar.
Like other juicers on our list, the Kuvings comes with an extra-large feeding tube which can accommodate certain large fruits and vegetables. Though, even with this feature, you may find enhanced performance with smaller chunks. While the #1 Breville model uses their nutri-disc system, the Kuvings model features a 3D mesh screen through which foods are processed. This mesh has fine pores so that maximum yields of juice can be extracted from foods.
Perhaps one downside of the Kuvings model is the lack of accessories. While the #3 Cuisinart model comes with a juice pitcher and pulp collector, the Kuvings NJ-9500U only comes with an attached pulp collector. So you will have to collect the juice in your own glass or container. This may lead to some minor splashing.
Kuvings does offer a fairly long warranty on the NJ-9500U. With a three-year warranty term, the Kuvings juicer has a longer warranty than any of the Breville models on our list. If you are concerned about the longevity of any juicer you buy, Kuvings certainly gives you more to work with.
5. Breville BJE200XL Compact Juice Fountain
Last on our list is another model from Breville. The BJE200XL is a “compact” centrifugal juicer for the person who wants juicing simplified but doesn’t want to sacrifice any quality. This model features many of the high-performance features of the other two Breville juicers on our list, but without any bells and whistles.
With an MSRP of a $99, it is the least expensive of the juicers, coming in lower than the $149 price of both the #3 Cuisinart and the #4 Kuvings. Of course, with various deals and savings, you can often find any of these models for less than their MSRP. But if you want the least expensive, highest-performing juicer, then the Breville BJE200XL is the way to go.
Its motor is fairly strong for its compact design. With 700 watts, it’s much stronger than the 350 watts of the #4 Kuvings model. It also spins faster at 14,000 RPMs compared to the 11,000 RPMs of the #4 Kuvings. This is fast enough to handle dense foods, even some leafy greens like kale or celery.
One of the major differences between the #5 Breville model and all the other juicers on our list is the simple on/off operation. While several of the other juicers have five speeds and the #4 Kuvings has two speeds, the #5 Breville BJE200XL only has one. It is designed to be a straightforward machine that operates only at its highest setting.
Like the other Breville juicers, the BJE200XL comes with a three-inch centrally located feeding chute. This allows for maximum stability, reduced vibrations, and less noise. In addition to this, the disc blades feature a stabilizing knife to pull foods down into the blades for processing so that you do not have to force foods into the juicer.
Unlike other models on our list, the BJE200XL does not eject pulp out of a separate spout. Instead, it collects the pulp in the outer rim of the juicer itself. So this model does require a bit more cleanup time than other models on our list. However, with the simplified operation, this is a bit of a tradeoff.
The BJE200XL, like the other two Breville models, comes with a one-year warranty. So with the #3 Cuisinart and the #4 Kuvings, you do get a longer warranty. However, Breville’s long track record of quality appliances assures us that these machines will last for many years.
Other Considerations
If you’re looking for the best home juicer on the market, the #1 Breville BJE510XL simply cannot be beaten. It comes with all the features you’d want from a centrifugal juicer, it outperforms other models, and it features smart technology that other companies have yet to adopt.
If you are looking to save a few dollars, then both the #3 Cuisinart and the #4 Kuvings models are good options. Both these juicers are less expensive than the #1 Breville BJE500XL and perform quite well. The Cuisinart comes with the same speed control as the Breville, but the Kuvings has only two speed settings, so between the two it just depends on how easy you would like the operation to be versus how much control you need.
If you are serious about juicing and will be doing a lot of it, then the #2 Breville BJE820XL is the best model out there. Its die-cast body and heavy-duty parts make it the toughest juicer on the market, and you get all the performance you would expect from Breville.
If you are looking for a minimalist approach to juicing, the Breville BJE200XL is a great option. This no-frills juicer offers a simple operation so you don’t have to think about anything, but you still get great juice yields.
No matter what you’re looking for, one of these top 5 centrifugal juicers is sure to get you on the road to healthy juicing and great drinks in no time!
