Is Pimento Cheese Keto Friendly?
It depends! If you decide to use store-bought pimento cheese spread, make sure that you carefully read the label before buying it. You don't want sugar in it, nor any harmful ingredients. So it is best to make a low-carb pimento cheese spread by yourself. This way, you'll know for sure what's in it.
Low-Carb Pimento Cheese Recipe
It is insanely easy to make a keto homemade pimento cheese spread. All that you need for it is a bowl, a spatula (fork, spoon, almost anything will do the job here), and five ingredients.
Here's what you should prepare for this keto pimento cheese recipe:
- Pimiento peppers - either fresh or marinated pimientos can be used for this recipe;
- Mayonnaise - you can use any type of mayonnaise for this cheese spread, but my choice here is definitely with the avocado mayo;
- Cheddar cheese - shredded cheddar cheese is a must for this keto pimento cheese spread;
- Worcestershire sauce - to give the cheese spread a bit of a flavor boost, you must add this sauce;
- Cayenne pepper powder - to get a bit more heat, I add cayenne pepper powder; but if you're worried it might be too much for you, you can skip this ingredient or use smoked paprika instead;
And that's it! Simple prepare the ingredients, place all of them into a bowl, and combine them together. Additionally, you can add some onion powder or garlic powder to this recipe.

Then move the pimiento cheese into an airtight container and place it in the refrigerator. This way, the cheese dip will stay good for up to 5 days.
How to Make Keto Pimento Cheese Poppers
Once you've prepared your keto pimento cheese dip, you can move to the next part of the recipe, which is making the low-carb poppers.
Here's what you should do next:
- Prepare the jalapeños. Cut the pepper in half lengthwise, remove the seeds and everything else from the insides, and set aside.
- Fill the jalapeños with pimento cheese. Using a teaspoon, scoop some of the keto pimento cheese spread and stuff it inside the jalapeños.
- Wrap the stuffed jalapeños with bacon. You'll need to use one bacon slice for one stuffed jalapeño. Make sure that the bacon covers the peppers completely.
- Bake. You should bake the peppers in your oven preheated to 350 degrees F for around 20-25 minutes, depending on how you like your bacon. If you want it to be extra crispy, you can bake the poppers for even up to half an hour.
That's it! I strongly advise you to serve the keto jalapeño poppers immediately after you bake them since they'll taste the best this way.
Also, here's a quick tip for you: if you have an air fryer, you can definitely use it for baking these pimento cheese poppers. This way, you'll have less cleaning up to do, and the bacon will turn out even crispier than you expected.

Storing Instructions
It is best to serve and eat these keto pimento cheese poppers as soon as you bake them. This way, the bacon will remain crispy, and you'll taste the combination of textures.
But if it happens that there are some leftovers, you should cover them with plastic food wrap and place them in your refrigerator. This way, they should last for up to 2 days. And since these poppers are best served hot, it is best to reheat them before serving.
Also, the reason why I love this recipe is that it is freezer-friendly. What I like to do with it is follow all of the recipe steps except for the last one (which is the baking). So if you plan on freezing these keto poppers, it is best to do before baking them and freeze raw.
