Marilia Coutinho Ph.D

Marilia Coutinho is a Brazilian researcher, university professor and technical consultant. She has majored in Biology (1985), holds a M.Sc. degree in Chemical Ecology (1989) and a Ph.D. in Sociology of Science (1994), all obtained at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

She was a post-doctoral fellow at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (1997) and a visiting scholar at the University of Florida (1998-2000). She has peer-reviewed scientific papers on the sociology of the life sciences and also articles on physical activity, strength sports, body image, physical education and nutrition.
